Ready, steady set and go.  Welcome to the Cannonball Run. 24 hours where we’re giving ten groups of young film makers the chance to burn themselves out to a cinder as they struggle to make a short in 24 hours.   A cannonball run?  Yeah, well look, we’re a community TV station, if we were actually good at branding do you think we’d be working here?

These groups will have just one day to pick actors, shoot and edit their wares to a final product.   The film makers strain ends only when our judges get an AVI file to screen at the moment of delivery. Our judges will then pronounce the films as dribble or sizzling hot right there on the spot.

And think about it, when you give ten groups of young film makers just 24 hours to launch into the making of a 3 minute short, you can expect some serious dilemmas.  That’s why the DCTV Cannon Ball Run crew will be documenting all their messy moments to be shown in a 30 minute special on the station a month after the event.

All of the material turned in by the participants will get an airing on the station too, with the winner being treated to a serious prize secured by the Cannonball Crew.
